TSCA MEMBERSHIP SERVICES INCLUDE:
LABOR RELATIONS
One of the primary functions of the
Association is to negotiate and subsequently administer a
total of twenty separate Collective Bargaining Agreements
having jurisdiction in the Tri-State and surrounding
counties. The administration and servicing of these
Collective Bargaining Agreements include the handling and
processing of all grievances and jurisdictional disputes.
The Tri-State Contractors Association maintains a constant
liaison with the Tri-State Building Trades Council in
Ashland, KY by and through the Tri-State Construction
Labor/Management Council organized and sponsored by the
Tri=State Contractors Association and the Tri-State Building
Trades Council. This joint Council is designed to further
the team concept approach and develop a working atmosphere
consisting of mutual trust and understanding between union
representatives and contractors. The joint labor-management
logo depicting an owl as the symbol of quality construction
and skilled craftsmanship is an example of the Council’s
earlier joint efforts.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
It is through the efforts of the
Association that the voice of the membership is projected
and amplified into all forms of civic, and industry-wide
activities. Purchasers of construction services and the
general public are constantly reminded that TSCA membership
represents the highest degree of skill, capacity and
achievement.
COMMITTEE AND COMMUNICATIONS
Through its various committees: Labor
Relations and Grievance and Arbitration, Safety,
Legislation, the Association maintains a constant flow of
communication not only to its members but also to local,
state and national officials regarding every phase and
activity of the industry.
Camaraderie and fellowship are enhanced through Monthly
Membership Meetings, Seminars, Annual Labor Management DAD’s
Day Golf Scramble, Annual Fall Educational Conferences,
Monthly Labor Management Meetings and other social
activities.
PLAN ROOM
In 2000, the Association established a state of the art Plan
Room in cooperation with area Architects whereby plans and
specifications for major construction projects are
maintained for the use of its members on a 24 hour – 7 day a
week basis.
NEA LEO MEMBERSHIP
In 2002, the TSCA became an active member of the Association
of Union Constructors (NEA’s LEO Division). NEA is a
nationwide network of over 5,000 union contractors, local
union contractor associations, industrial maintenance
contractors and industry suppliers dedicated to providing
its members with the highest level of labor relations and
safety services and the promotion of positive
labor-management programs in the construction industry.
TSCA membership in this national organization allows our
members to maintain a presence at the national level and be
kept up to date on events that may affect the local
industry. |
